一、项目介绍

　　美国西北大学MSCS项目开设于其McCormick School of Engineering下 EECS depart-ment中的Computer Science Division下的研究生项目

　　美国西北大学为quarter制，区别于其他传统北美院校的semester制。

　　每个quarter为10周，每年上3个quarters，从每年的9月末开始到6月结束

　　需要注意的是，西北大学允许延期毕业，如果完不成毕业所需的thesis或者Project可以申请延期，延期的quarter只收取100刀注册费并不收取学费。(项目并不是很贵)

　　项目的费用为1.7W dolloar/quarter， 但是限制3-4 courses以内. 如果选择课程少于3门，则可以算作Part-time qurater，则学费为6k dollar/course。

　　二、研究领域

　　1、Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning(人工智能与机器学习)

　　Work in AI combines the scale afforded by machine learning with the expressive and organizational power of semantic information-processing and knowledge-based reasoning

　　2、Graphics(计算机图像处理)

　　设计，建模，构建系统并将传感器与显示器以及新型光学元件相结合，为医疗，天文和科学成像中的相机和显示器提供新的功能

　　3、Human-Computer Interaction and Infor-mation Visualization(人机交互与信息可视化)

　　西北大学拥有一个充满活力的跨学校 HCI 社区，教职员工和学生参与了广泛的项目。HCI 的学生就读于计算机科学、通信、学习科学以及技术与社会行为方面的课程。

　　16 courses 8+8 (12 cs + 12 ee) double major = Major in ee. Major in cs
